Our quarries
Glázer-Transz Kft. owns and operates several quarries in the Győr region. Each quarry has its own characteristics and offers different raw materials to meet the diverse needs of the construction industry and private customers.
Győr Quarry III – Yellow sand
Győr Quarry III, the oldest and largest quarry operated by Glázer-Transz Kft., is located on the outskirts of the Győr Industrial Park, where quarrying activities date back to the 1970s. Our primary activity is the extraction and supply of clean yellow sand with a consistent clay content, formed naturally over a long period of time, for industrial and residential use.
Quarrying begins with the removal of the fertile topsoil, which is stored separately for subsequent land reclamation. Sand is extracted gradually, layer by layer, in accordance with the quarry’s approved technical operating plan. Depending on its intended use, the extracted material is screened, sorted, quality-checked and certified.
Large-volume deliveries are handled by high-capacity sand excavators and wheel loaders. The quarry can serve up to 80–100 vehicles per hour, supported by two weighbridges, each with a weighing capacity of 60 tonnes.

Győr Quarry X – Red gravel
Quarrying operations at Győr Gravel Quarry X, located on the outskirts of Győrszentiván, began in 2016 with the removal of the fertile topsoil. The quarry provides access to nearly 1,000,000 m³ of natural gravel for extraction and supply to industrial and residential customers.
Gravel is extracted gradually, layer by layer, in accordance with the quarry’s approved technical operating plan. The gravel deposits reach a thickness of up to 30 metres in some areas. Depending on its intended use, the extracted material is screened, sorted, quality-checked and certified before being stockpiled or transported directly to customers.
One of the quarry’s main products is red gravel, which compacts well and is suitable for creating load-bearing layers. It can be used for road foundations, parking area sub-bases and foundation backfilling, among other applications.

Győr Quarry VI – Clay
The main raw material extracted at Glázer-Transz Kft.’s Győr Quarry VI is clay. This natural material is used in varying quantities for a range of applications.
In smaller quantities, it is used for lining the interiors of furnaces, while in larger volumes, it is suitable for constructing waterproof barrier layers.

Our product prices include loading and weighing costs. In addition to materials from our own quarries, we also provide transportation services for other materials available from quarries and building material suppliers in the Győr region, offering a range of solutions to meet your needs.
We can also arrange the delivery of larger quantities or specialised materials from more distant quarries, subject to a customised quotation. We also transport earth-moist concrete.
